Q4 2025 Platform Stats

Quick rundown of how Q4 went. We do these quarterly to keep things transparent and to give freelancers and clients a sense of platform health.
Projects
Projects posted in Q4: 1,847 (up 34% from Q3). Average bids per project: 6.2. Average time from posting to first bid: 47 minutes. These numbers have been remarkably consistent -- we haven't seen the "boom and bust" bid patterns that some other platforms report.
Top categories by project count: Web Design (31%), Logo & Branding (18%), Shopify (14%), UI/UX (11%), Illustration (9%), other (17%).
Project sizes
Median project value: $1,240. Average project value: $2,847 (skewed up by a handful of large agency projects). The $500-$3,000 range continues to be our sweet spot -- 68% of all projects fall in this range.
First-time clients posted 612 projects in Q4. Return clients (2+ projects) posted 1,235. Return rate is up from 54% to 67% year over year, which we're pretty happy about.
Payments
Total freelancer earnings processed: $5.2M in Q4. No major payment disputes resulting in chargebacks (we had one in Q3 that cost us about $3,400). Our dispute resolution rate has improved -- 89% of disputes now resolved without escalation to manual review.
What we're watching in Q1
We've seen a small uptick in low-quality bid spam -- accounts created to submit boilerplate bids on everything. We're working on better detection for this. If you've noticed it, we have too.
Also rolling out improved search in Q1. The current search is honestly pretty basic and we know it.
