Product Designer

We're a company that genuinely cares about the design quality of our product. This is not a "design the mockups and throw them over the wall" role -- you'd be embedded with the product and engineering team throughout the full cycle. Currently a team of one designer; this role is the second.
What you'll do
- –Lead the redesign of our freelancer onboarding flow (currently the biggest drop-off point we have)
- –Own the client dashboard -- project management, bid review, messaging
- –Conduct user research with freelancers and clients; translate findings into design decisions
- –Create and maintain a component library in Figma
- –Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately
Requirements
- –4+ years of product design experience, ideally at a marketplace or SaaS company
- –Strong Figma skills -- components, prototyping, auto-layout
- –Experience running your own user interviews and usability tests
- –Can ship designs at high quality under time pressure without excessive hand-holding
- –Portfolio that shows product thinking, not just visual craft
Nice to have
- –Experience designing for two-sided marketplaces
- –Some front-end skills (HTML/CSS) -- enough to have informed conversations with engineers
- –Experience with design systems at scale
